BSNL announced the launch of interactive personalized TV services on IPTV platform. BSNL users can now watch their favourite programmes according to their convenience. Company will also offer Hindi and Hollywood movies at free of cost. We will now see intense competition among DTH, CAS and IPTV platforms. BSNL is now launched this service in 10 Indian cities.
IPTV is a system where an interactive digital television service is delivered over a broadband connection. Users can utilise Video on demand and customised services through IPTV platform.
How to utilise this service?
1. Subscribers need to have BSNL broadband connection.
2. Set-top box for Rs 2,500 (upfront payment).
3. Subscription for Rs 280 per month for 150 TV channels.
4. Subscription for Rs 200 per month for 95 TV channels.
BSNL partnered Smart Digivision to roll out this service in 54 cities.
